After returning to the ground, think about attending one or more local events. Fashfest occurs at the National Convention Centre in May. This festival offers nightly fashion shows, music and parties.

3. Go to the Multicultural Festival

If you visit the Australian Capital Territory in February, don't miss the National Multicultural Festival. It features a great variety of entertainment. Participants also savour delicious Greek, Chinese and South American cuisine.

4. Eat in Chinatown

You needn't attend a festival to find top-notch Asian meals in Canberra. Be sure to visit the city's Chinatown district for eateries with excellent Laotian, Thai, Chinese and Malaysian menu items.

5. Take a Hot Air Balloon Trip

Hot air balloons provide another pleasant way to admire Canberra's scenery and learn more about the city. Several companies include snacks and champagne with each flight, according to Australian Geographic. Balloon adventures usually last about 40 minutes.

6. Visit Mount Majura Vineyard

Asian cuisine can easily make you thirsty; visit the nearby Mount Majura Vineyard after lunch. It produces several appealing varieties of wine. They include riesling, graciano and tempranillo. This vineyard also offers a blend that combines graciano with shiraz. Yum!

7. Watch a Rugby Match

The Rugby Union Club serves an assortment of wine, beer and snacks. Guests can pay a small fee to watch rugby games and receive beverage discounts, according to the local visitors' centre.

8. Browse the Gorman House Markets

If you enjoy shopping and want to find some interesting merchandise, don't forget to browse Canberra's Gorman House Markets. You'll discover a wide range of used paperbacks, antiques, clothing and other goods. The market features local food vendors as well.

9. Stroll through Jerrabomberra Wetlands

For a more peaceful experience, tour the Jerrabomberra Wetlands at Canberra Nature Park. You can take a pleasant stroll, see several species of aquatic birds and appreciate the lakeside scenery.

10. Walk or canoe in John Knight Memorial Park

The John Knight Memorial Park on Aikman Drive appeals to travelers young and old. It features a walking path, playground, picnic area and boating facilities. Boaters can paddle canoes or go sailing on Lake Ginninderra. Visitors enjoy scenic views as well.
