Directions: Being situated at the crossroads of the North Island has a lot of advantages. Stick to State Highway 1 whether coming from the North or South.
Once in Taupo get onto the main road running around the town - either Tongariro St or Lake Road (along the lake front). Base Taupo is more or less on the corner of the two taking the corner building of Tongariro St and Tuwharetoa St.
By plane: Taxi and shuttle services available at the airport- we are situated 5km from the airport.

The Erupt Lake Taupō Festival is an iconic event that started in 1996 with a modest budget and an enthusiastic group of volunteers, and is now the signature arts and cultural event for the Central Plateau area. We are filling the void between Erupt Festivals by delivering five new arts and cultural events over the next two years under the ‘Erupt Events’ banner. The new Erupt Events offer diversity, vibrancy and camaraderie in a unique and refreshingly Taupō way.
With a programme of six events in the portfolio, Erupt Events are the leading arts and cultural event provider in the Central North Island region. Great Lake Taupō is the home of Erupt Events, with the biennial ‘Erupt Lake Taupō Festival’ recognised nationally as a premiere Arts Festival.
