The Best Jobs in the World.
It makes sense that one of the best countries in the world would be home to some of the 'Best Jobs in the World'. Right now, there are six positions available, all around Australia. Each job comes with a six-month contract and a package worth $100k*.
Tourism Australia has taken one of the most successful tourism campaigns in recent times – Tourism Queensland’s 2009 "Best Job in the World" - and made it bigger by involving most State Tourism Organisations – in an effort to promote the whole of Australia internationally with a single voice. On offer will be six extraordinary jobs in six extraordinary areas, collectively showcasing the best of our country and the best that Australian tourism has to offer the world’s youth travellers. The successful applicant for each job will be paid a six-month salary of up to A$100,000* which includes remuneration, accommodation costs and other agreed living expenses. The work to be carried out by the winners will be determined by each state or territory but as well as carrying out the actual job itself, could include hosting media famils, working with local tourism operators, creating destination content about their region and sharing it through social media channels and blogs.
515,000 expressions of interest have been submitted from nearly 300,000 individuals so far, entries received from 196 countries with the most popular job globally being Wildlife Caretaker (SA), followed by Chief Funster (NSW) and Park Ranger (Qld).
