New Zealand is home to stunning and diverse landscapes, mountains, lakes & beaches. Although there are many hiking trails to choose from, there are 9 Great Walks that have been voted as the very best!
Each of the Great Walks offer Guided or Self Guided options along with lodge or hut style accommodation along the way. These walks are not for the faint hearted, ranging from 2 to 6 days.
5 of the 9 Great Walks are located in New Zealand's South Island, along with the 6th hiking trail located on Stewart Island (at the very bottom of the country)! Apart from Abel Tasman National Park, all of the south island trails are mountainous and weather dependent - hence require extensive pre planning.
