DONT MISS a visit to Base Backpackers Hostel in Airlie Beach...
Airlie Beach, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef Australia, also known as Party Capital of the North.
To begin in Airlie usually involves a bus from either north or south. A detour off the Bruce Hwy towards the coast, through the cane fields, past a few round-a-bouts and over the hill.
One’s 1st vision of Airlie Beach is usually the coral sea and the amazing Whitsunday Islands, or the damm big Down Under Bar Sign, Full on, Flat out.
Then the street, or the Strip as we like to call it. Hostels, Bars, Gift Shops, More Bars, Macca’s, and another bar. Base Backpackers Airlie Beach is situated at the top of the strip.
First stop in Airlie Beach is usually at the Down Under Bar. Open from 12 noon every day, its a great place to chill in the afternoons, listen to some cool music and get stuck into the $13 Meal and Pint Deal.
Generally the next morning will be spent either nursing a hang over, running to catch your tour, or waking up to some random with that all too familiar “What happened?”
Tour time. Whether it be sailing, power boating, island hopping. Be sure to secure the best deals at Base Travel. Party boats, romantic sailing adventures, fast paced day trips are all available for your pleasure.
