Goon. It's cheap, easy to transport and has the unique ability to simultaneously make and break our lives from the onset of that very first, disgusting and stomach churning sip. For those of us that have tried Goon, we understand that it is in fact, an acquired taste. We also know that beggers cannot be choosers.

The excitement of being able to consume 40 litres of alcohol for under $15 overrides any of the negative side effects that may deter us from drinking this fabulous Australian creation. By side effects, we mean the body's natural rejection of such a vile and disgusting taste, such as body spasms, severe vomiting and the watering of the eyes. It is a known fact that no amount of 'fancifying' can make Goon actually taste good - but mixing Goon into a punch, spritzer or cocktail CAN actually IMPROVE the taste. So, we have compiled a list of our favourite goon cocktail recipes to classy up your Goon intake.

TIP: buy a 2 litre water bottle from Woolies. Drink the water. Store your cocktail mix in the water bottle and let it cool in the fridge. If you are planning on heading to a garden, beach or BBQ, make the cocktail the night before and let it freeze overnight. Chances are in the Aussie summer, the cocktail will be cooled just enough to enjoy on arrival!

These recipes are based on 1 serving (1 cup). Obviously if you are making a punch, you will need to multiply the ingredients accordingly.
